Sir. The Governor & Council are desirous you should go a short Cruize in the Bay in order to try the sailing of your Brig, as the Barrons Boats 2 are supposed to sail well you must proceed to Hampton, & get one of them to .go out with you, as thereby you'l be better enabled to judge how she performs. If in the course of the Cruize you meet with any of the Enemies Vessells, which you may be a match for, you are to attack and capture them if you can, having regard to the safety of your own Vessell. If you should at any time meet with Vessells belonging to any other State, you are to afford them every assistance in your Power.
