Last Thursday [September 28] a Brig being seen, hovering off Marblehead, Cape-Ann, &c. the People on Shore sent a Boat to know who she was; and on finding her a Provision Vessel from Quebec, bound for Boston, man'd out some arm'd Boats, and brought her in; Forty Head of Cattle, a great Number of Sheep and Poultry of all Kinds, were found on board. ー This, though a valuable acquisition, was not the most pleasing part of her Cargo ー for on further Examination, Letters was found from Governor Carleton, and other officers at Quebec, to General Gage, &c.1
