Your Lordship having in your letter of the 6th instant, signified to Us the King's Pleasure that a Frigate, or 20 Gun Ship, should be stationed at the Bermuda Islands, for their Security; we beg leave to acquaint Your Lordship that, in consequence of the King's Pleasure, signified by the Earl of Suffolk in his Lordship's Letter of the 14th of October last, We the next day sent Directions to Vice Admiral Graves, Commander in Chief of His Majesty's Ships and Vessels in North America, to station one of the small Ships of his Squadron at the Bermuda Islands, and another at the Isle of [New] Providence, for the Safety & Preservation thereof, in case any Attempts should be made against them.
