Sir
This Court has received information that the Mail from Providence to Newport, which contains Letters from the post Office at Cambridge, was intercepted last week by a Man of Wars boat, in passing Conanicut ferry, and Several of the letters taken out, your Honr is Sensible that it may be of the most consequence, to have letters from these parts, fall into the hands of those who are Seeking our destruction. We therefore request of your Honor, that some order may be taken in your Government, that all Letters to or from the Post office at Cambridge may be Conveyed by Land thro' your Colony, as far as it is practicable, and that none be allowed to be Sent over the Conanicut ferry,ー
