The River holds still froze so much that the Pilots will not undertake to carry us from here But perhaps we may Sail b[e]fore the things can come for the small Sloop 2 by Water think it will be best to Send some of the most Necessary things by Land such as some of the Swivel Guns Some Musquet Ball some old Canvas & six 20 feet Oars.
