At a Meeting of the Governor and Council of Safety,
[Lebanon] Thursday, February 1st, 1776.
Voted, That Capt. Isaac Sears be appointed and employed to purchase and procure a suitable quantity and assortment of duck for a ship of about 260 tons, building for the use and defence of this Colony; 2 and also about seven tons of suitable iron for said ship; and send forward in the most prudent and careful manner, and deliver the iron to the care of Cap. Benja. Williams, and the duck to the care of Cap. Uriah Hayden, both of Saybrook in this Colony.
