At a Meeting of the Governor and Council of Safety holden in
Lebanon September 25th A.D. 1777. —
Voted, that his Excellency the Governor be desired to order the Prisoners taken by Capt Seth Harding in the Ship Oliver Cromwell in the Service of this State, in the Prize Ship Weymouth and in the Prize Brigantine the Honor, to be sent under Proper Guard to this State, to be kept and disposed of for the Redemption of the Subjects of this State in the Hands of the Enemy.
Voted, That this Board do approve of the Conduct of Capt Seth Harding, in discharging Part of the Crew of the Ship Oliver Cromwell.
It is further voted, That his Excellency be desired to order Capt Harding to discharge as many of the Mariners and Marines belonging to said Ship as can be Conveniently spared, retaining only so many as are Necessary to refit said Ship and prepare her for another Cruise.
Voted, That his Excellency be desired to give Orders that the Ship Oliver Cromwell be refitted, graved and prepared for the Sea with all Convenient Dispatch.
