[Annapolis] Saturday 16th November 1776.
Commission issued to. Larkin Hammond appointed Captain of the Schooner Jenifer mounting 10 Carriage Guns and ten Swivels, with sixty men.
Ordered That Messrs Vernon Hebb and Timothy Bowes be and are hereby authorized and empowered to sell all the Vessels with their Tackle, Apparel and furniture belonging. to this State, lying in or near St. Mary's River in St. Mary's County, drifted on Shore or made Captures of from Lord Dunmore's Fleet; they first giving due notice of the Time and Place of such Sale, and that they make Return of their Proceedings, and of the money arising from such Sale to the Council of Safety or other executive Power of this State; reserving to themselves a reasonable Commission for their Trouble. 2
