[Williamsburg] Wednesday, April 30th 1777.
Captain James Maxwell received Orders to repair to South Quay, and give such directions, respecting the building and fitting the Gallies there as he shall judge necessary, And from thence to proceed to Edenton in North Carolina to purchase such Materials and Necessaries, as he can procure and may be wanting for the said Galleys.
Ordered that a Warrant issue to George Biscoe for ninety pounds upon account, for recruiting Seamen, he having entered into and acknowledged Bond with Security for the same.
