This will be handed you by Capt [Ichabod] Morton of the Schooner Elen. which I have Chartered for Maryland. or Pensilvania as you shall Choose for either one or two Trips.2 I could have wished this Vessels & one Other I have since Charterd had been A size larger, but I was too late to pick & choose. & I beleive they will do very well upon the Terms agreed on she now goes to Boston to Attend your orders supposeing you would Choose to Ship some goods. by her. I have paid the Advance wages to the people. you have therefore Nothing to do. hut victual & give your Orders . . I am with great Respect [&c.]

I have made some Contracts for Shott & some for Spears. the Shot Contracted for are none larger than 12 lb & 2 or 3 Tons Grape Mr Lothrop is makeg a large quantity by Contract with the Commissary if you Choose to Consign to the Master I beleive Capt Morton Capable of Transacting the Business
