[Pointe aux Trembles] Novr 25 1775
Gentlemen
I wrote you last Night [(I sent a] Canow up the river) of Two large & 2 Small Vessells being Anchored off Cap rouge, this morning they have weighed & are now opposite this Place, & will be able to proceed Abt 1 League higher up this Tide Their Design is Doubtless to proceed as high up as the Foot of the Rissalier, or Rapids Oposite Cap Santé, 4 Leagues Above this place. I think it will be impossible for them to Go higher up, without a Strong Easterly Wind ー or to Stay there long as the ice must Certainly drive them Away the first Cold weather ー I make no doubt of your using Every Necessary Precaution to Avoid them & Am Gentlemen &c.
