Colony of Massachusetts Bay, Essex, ss.
At the court erected to try and condemn all vessels that shall be found infesting the sea coast of America, and brought into the counties of Suffolk, Middlesex, or Essex, to be held at Ipswich in the said county of Essex, on Thursday the 28th day of March, 1776, at the hour of ten in the forenoon, will be tried the justice of the capture ー of a ship called the Jenny, burthen about two hundred tons, commanded by William Wood; and of a brigantine called the Nelly burthen about one hundred and eighty tons, commanded by John Robinson.
At the same court to be held at Ipswich aforesaid, on Friday the 29th day of March, at the hour of nine in the forenoon will be tried the justice of the capture of the sloop-called the Rainbow, burthen about sixty tons, commanded by Samuel Perkins.
All which vessels, said to be improved in supplying the fleet and army employed against the United Colonies, and taken and brought into the County of Essex aforesaid, together with their cargoes and appurtenances, are libelled in the court aforesaid, and will be tried at the times above mentioned. Of which trials this notice is given pursuant to the laws of the colony aforesaid, that the owners of the aforesaid vessels, or any persons concerned therein, may appear and shew cause, if any they have, why the said vessels, or any of them, with their cargoes and appurtenances, should not be condemned.
