A draft of an answer to the letter of Burnet Miller, chairman of the Committee of East and South-Hampton, was read and approved of, and is in the words following, to wit:
Committee of Safety, For the Colony of New-York July 12, 1775
Gentlemen ー We are favoured with your letter dated South-Hampton the 5th instant, signed by Mr. Miller, Chairman of the committee of East and South-Hampton, and are to inform you that we will forward a copy of the same to Major General [Philip] Schuyler, to whose consideration we must refer your request.
We are with much respect, gentlemen [&c.]

Ordered, That a copy thereof be signed by the Chairman and transmitted.
