Mr Sackville this morning most agreeably surprised me with the News that your Lordship was appointed Secretary of State for the Colonies,
No Friend whatever can more truly rejoice than I do, that Justice has at last been rendered to your Merit and that you are in some degree made Amends, for the gross, Cruel, base, unjustifiable persecution you underwent in the late Reign, and that you may long continue to fill the very Important Post to which yo4 are called, with Credit to Yourself and to the Honour of your King & Country, is the most Ardent and sincere Wish of him who will ever be, with real Truth and Respect [&c.]
