[Boston] 6th [January, 1775]
The rebellious proceedings of the Rhode Islanders, in forming a Magazine of Arms at Providence, and seizing the Kings Cannon at Fort George, made the Admiral lay aside his Design of keeping the Swan at Boston, as Schooners could not be fitted for Service for some time to come; and he sent her this day for Rhode Island to be employed together with the Hope Schooner, by Captain [James] Wallace, in the best manner he could for preventing the unlawful Introduction of Arm and Ammunition.
