Licenses having been granted by the several Governors of the West­ India Islands for large Quantities of Rum and Melasses to be shipped for this port, under pretence of Supplies for the Army and Fleet; Whereby Means have been taken, as there is great Reason to believe, to furnish the Rebels collusively with those necessary Commodities; It has been therefore judged requisite to make the Application to the respective Governors contained in the Copy of the Circular Letter herewith enclosed, for restraining that injurious Intercourse. — And it is much to be desired for the King's Service, that His Majesty's pleasure could be obtained for the purpose of tht Request.
