Bristol Port Royal Jamaica 2d March 1778
Sir
Vice Admiral Gayton intending to sail to morrow morning, has given me up the Command of His Majesty's Ships on this Station, together with all the Necessary Papers and Instructions.—
The State of the Squadron and the Arrangement of the Ships, their Lordships will be fully informed of by the Vice Admiral—
I shall be enabled by the next opportunity to lay before their Lordships a particular State of the Wharfs and Store Houses, some of which appear to me, to be in immediate want of repair, and will, if speedily undertaken, save much expense to Government. You will receive herewith my Journal from the 1st Novr. 1776 to the 14th February 1778. I am Sir [&c.]
P: Parker
