[Boston] Wednesday June 17th. 1778.
Mr. Wood came up with a Message from the Honble. House1 to enquire of the Board2 whether they had passed upon the Resolve appointing Capt. John Harraden3 to the command of the Brigantine Hazard.
Judge Niles4 went down with a Message to the Honble. House to inform them that the Board had Nonconcurred the Choice referred to in the foregoing Message.

3. Capt. Jonathan Haraden commanded Massachusetts Navy brigantine Tyrannicide. On 10 June Capt. Simeon Samson, commander of Massachusetts Navy brigantine Hazard, resigned his command because of ill health. On 13 June the Massachusetts Council appointed Capt. John Clouston to succeed him.
