Honble. Gentlemen,
In my last I wrote ye honble Board that Capt. Burk being out of Town I could not come at a Date of ye Commiso. he receiv'd from Gen Washington since which I have satisfied Myself respecting it & find He was commission'd ye 8th January 1776—1 I congratulate you on Mr Adams's2 Arrival at Paris, we have been in Fear, as we have had no Acct. of his Arrival at France by a Ship3 that saild from Nants forty eight Days after he saild hence I beg leave to mention the Brig Dispatch4 having saild from Charlestown twenty Days since, in Company with a Brig which arrivd here two Days ago having nothing to add I remain yours &c

PS I had like forgot to have mention'd that Capt. Rathbourn5 informs me that Capt. Trivett6 is gone forward to York Town7 against his advice, & that by this measure of Trivett's, he refusing to distribute ye Shares to ye Captors, fifteen of his best Men have left him, the Capt. himself with almost all the People being content with ye Decree of ye Marine Court—8 Capt. Rathbourn is fearful Great Loss will happen from Trivetts Management of ye Cargo the Acct. of the Mary's9 Cargo is inclosed—10
