Remarks on Board the Boston Tuesday June 23d. 1778
The first part of this 24 Hours, light Breezes & Cloudy Weather, saw a Sail to the Northwd. gave Chase and at Noon came up with her—she proved to be the Brig Brittania. William Baker Commd from Newfoundland,1 bound to Oporto, took the Master & Crew out, and sent her for Loriant, wth. Giscard prize Master, Wm. Atkins, Mate. (Alary, Arnaud Battiste, Leger, Grasia, & Goodwin. all Frenchmen as Hands). She was loaded with abt. 1700 Quint. Fish.
