The King having been pleased, under His Royal Signet and Sign Manual to establish Instructions (bearing date the 2d day of May 1776.) for the Commanders of His Ships and Vessels of War, in regard to such Capturesas have been, or shall be made by them, in consequence of an Act lately passed, prohibiting all Trade and Commerce with the Colonies of New Hampshire, Massachusets Bay, Rhode Island, Connecticut, New York, New Jersey, Pensylvania, the three lower Counties on Delaware, Maryland, Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina & Georgia, during the continuance of the present Rebellion within the said Colonies respectively; We send you herewith a printed Copy of His Majts said Instructions, and do hereby require and direct you to pay the strictest regard and attention thereto. Given &c. the 1t June 1776.
