Our batteaus and vessels are all ready, and we propose in two or three days setting out on our visit to Ticonderoga and Crown Point, iwhich we hope to give a good account of. We had an alarm that a party of 5 or 6000 of the rebels had been sent up through the woods, in order to come down and burn our vessels; we lay on our arms for four and twenty hours, but the enemy did not appear. We expect to get to the other end of the Lakes in a fortnight from this time.
