The Committees detected the fraud & Imposition, as the public tho' the ship was sent back without breakg Bulk. The public Resentment and Vengeance rose against these eminent Merchants. They found themselves in a bad state ー made a confession of the whole matter (before the Committees had really gotten the Goods) offered to send them back and give £200 to rebuilding the N. York Hospital, and any other Concessions to the public Acceptance.
