Sir,
The Earl of Suffolk, One of His. Majesty's Principal Secretaries of State, having acquainted my Lords Commissioners of the Admiralty, that the Lords of the Treasury have given Orders for two Custom House Cutters to proceed immediately to Dover and to follow your directions as to the properest Station for intercepting the Anna Catherina supposed to be laden, with Warlike Stores and Accoutrements intended for His Majesty's Rebellious Subjects in North America; I am commanded by their Lordships to inform you thereof, and to signify their direction to you to station the said Two Cutters in such manner as you shall judge most likely to answer: the purpose beforementioned.
