Sir,
I am commanded by my Lords Commissioners of the Admiralty to signify their direction to you to proceed to Sea without a moment's loss of time and cruize between Dover and Calais in order to join, as soon as possible, the Speedwell Sloop, and upon joining her, to put yourself under the Command of Captain [Richard] Pearson and foliow his Orders for your further proceedings.
If you should fall in with the Anna Catherina a Danish Frigate built Ship of about 400 Tons Burthen, Andreas Stander Master, bound from Altona to Cadiz, before you join the Speedwell Sloop, It is their Lordships direction that you sieze and bring her to Dover, and that you acquaint me therewith by Express, transmitting to me at the same time the Manifest of the Ship's Cargo and such other Papers as you may find on board of her, for their Lordships information. Ps. You are not to wait to have the Cutter refitted, but put to Sea as soon as possible after you receive this.
