Resolution, Spithead 16 Janry 1776
[Copy]
Please to acquaint the Lords Commissioners of the Admiralty that agreeable to their Order of the 10th Instant I have sent the Seventy Prisoners from the Tartar on board the Centaur at Spithead; and as all of them were bare of Cloaths and some of them almost naked I took upon me to order each of them, except the Officers, to be supplied with a Suit of Slop Cloaths, to be washed and cleaned and their old Cloaths to be thrown overboard to prevent Infection, being full of Vermin. I have ordered them to be mustered and have herewith inclosed the numbers and name of the Country in which each of them were born, who are all, except the Officers, desirous of entering into the King's Service, and would not choose to be sent back to America.
