at 7 AM Weigh'd and came to Sail with H.M. Ship Pearl1 & stood down ye Bay, at 12 Anchd, in Compy. as before in 7 fm. with ye Stream Anchor

Do. Wr. [first part Modte, & Clear: latter fresh breezes & Cloudy.] At 4 P.M Weigh'd and came to Sail & stood down ye Bay saw several Sail in ye Offing ½ past six fird 2 six Pounders & md ye Private Signl, which was not Ansd, bore down & Spoke a Convoy of Victuallers from Ireland who Inform'd us that a Brigg one of their Convoy was taken by ye Rebels, Saw two of ye Victuallers firing at ye Brigg under Cape May Do. stood towards them at 11 spoke ye two Ship Inform’d us they had Retaken ye Brigg from ye Rebels Do. Tack'd Ship & stood towards Cape Henlopen
