The Privateers Wooster1 and Fairfield,2 have lately captur'd and brought into an Eastern Port, a Prize Brig3 from England, bound to Newport or New York.
1. Connecticut privateer sloop Wooster (10 guns), Capt. Ebenezer Peck, commander, commissioned on 20 Feb. 1778, manned by a crew of 60 and owned by Pierpont Edwards & Co., of New Haven. DNA, PCC, item 196, vol. 16, p. 48.
2. Rhode Island privateer brigantine Fairfield (12 or 14 guns), Capt. James Hovey, commander.
