A letter book copy, minus the last three paragraphs is in the Hopkins Papers, RIHS, and a deleted version, dated April 9, 1776, was published in the Pennsylvania Gazette, April 17, 1776, "by Order of Congress," Hopkins wrote a similar report on April 8 to Governor Nicholas Cooke in which he noted: "if you should want any of the Stores [taken at New Providence] shall be glad to know the Sorts."
