[Halifax] Wednesday April 10th 1776
The Congress being informed that a certain brigantine, called the William now lying in port Beaufort whereof Philip Wescott is at present Master belonging to William Strobrook, Francis Burchitt and Philip Westcott of London, and it appearing by the register of the said Vessel that she is British property; Resolved That Richard Cogdell, James Davis and John Green cause the said Brigantine or Vessell to be immediately seized and detained, together with her Tackle Apparel and Furniture until further Orders
