I had late last Night, advice from one of the Cruizers, that the French Squadron was seen yesterday Evening, steering to the NE; most naturally supposed for Rhode-Island. But I wait in expectation of further accounts from some of the several Vessels attending the Enemy's Movements to ascertain their destination more certainly, & take my measures accordingly. I have the honor to be Dr Sir [&c.]
