A List of the Prisoners belonging to the Mermaid1 said to have been taken out of American vessels.
Henry Blundall—English has Relatives in Boston used to sail from thence & was pressed in England
John Murtaugh. Irish sailed out of Boston in Williams's privateer2 & was taken & kept by the Mermaid—has Relations in Maryd & used to sail in on Blades Employ
John Small____English—took in a prize belonging to a Boston privateer
Alexr. McCarley. Irish, taken in Williams's privateer from Boston.—
Colin McMillin Scotch pressed out of the Duke of York in the transport Service bound to New York.3
James Bailey, English—entered in the Mermaid from on bd. a Gamaican cruiser
Benjamin Davis—Welshman. used to sail from Charles Town So. Carola. pressed out of a Transport on a Voyage to New York—
Peter Welch–Irish used to sail from Connectickut island where lived a Wife & Children pressed at Rhode Island.
John Bruce, Scotchman (used) to sail to virga. pressed 2d. mate of a vessel from N. York.
William Miller___ do Scotch, he resided in & sailed from Virga, several years, pressed out of the Duke of York.
William Sharpe__ do Scotch had been taken by a Newbury privateer in [blank] exchanged & pressed at Rhode Island.
