j’usse été mouiller, beaucoup plus avant pour favoriser votre déscente, que jai appercu, se faire, fort au nord de lendroit ou je mis, si mes pilotes americains ne mavaient assurés, que ce point cy était celuy ou nous pouvions ettre les plus utiles.

Despite their assurances, I fear, Sir, that we are too far off, in that case, I beg you to be so good as to let me know your intentions; and I shall strive to follow the instructions that you will give me.
